Editorial Policy

Last updated: 24 April 2026

Our approach

Morning Post is an independent daily newsletter serving 6 Australian capitals. Each edition curates the most relevant local, national and international news for our readers, alongside events, weather, community content and games. We are not a wire service or news agency — we are an editorial publication that writes original content informed by publicly available news sources.

How we produce news summaries

Our news summaries are original editorial content written in our own words. We do not reproduce, excerpt or closely paraphrase source articles. Our process:

Our goal is to inform readers about what is happening in their city and direct them to the original journalism for the full story. We see ourselves as a complement to local news publishers, not a substitute.

Writing process and use of AI

Morning Post is produced with a combination of human editorial judgement and modern writing tools, including AI-assisted drafting. Stories are selected, reviewed and published against our editorial guidelines; the tools help us work efficiently across multiple city editions while keeping tone and accuracy consistent. A human is in the loop on every edition. If anything we publish reads oddly or gets a fact wrong, we want to know — drop us a line at nathan@morningpost.com.au and we'll make it right.

Attribution and linking

Every news story in Morning Post includes the name of the original source and a hyperlink to the original article. We believe in giving credit to the journalists and publications whose reporting informs our coverage. Our links use rel="nofollow" attributes to signal that we are attributing, not claiming SEO value from source content.

News sources

We source news from publicly available RSS feeds published by news organisations. RSS feeds are a standard web technology that publishers make available for content distribution. We also monitor public event listings, government websites, tourism boards and community organisations for local events and community content.

Editorial independence

Morning Post is editorially independent. Advertising and sponsorship have no influence on our news selection or editorial content. Sponsored content is clearly labelled in every edition.

Accuracy and corrections

We strive for accuracy in all our content. If we publish an error, we will correct it promptly. If you spot an inaccuracy in any Morning Post edition, please contact us at nathan@morningpost.com.au.

Content disputes

If you are a content creator or publisher and believe that Morning Post has used your content in a way that infringes your rights, please contact us at nathan@morningpost.com.au with details of the specific content in question. We will review all good-faith requests promptly and take appropriate action.
